The ancient history of Thailand thoroughly is not known. It is known only, that about 5 thousand years ago on plateau Korat in a valley of Mekong (the northeast of modern Thailand) there were rural communities which have reached sufficient skill in agriculture, potter's business, and especially in metal working: it is considered, that ancient Chineses have adopted technologies of processing of copper from these ancient people.

This ancient civilisation has not left neither large monuments, nor temples, anything except working tools. Tajtsy as ethnos occur most likely from the Central China. Ancestors modern tajtsev slowly migrated in territory now being northern Thailand and have based the first Thai state in Phajau in 1096г. After the Mongolian gain of China northern Thai states have grown in sizes, and the cities of Sukotaj and Lannataj (kingdom in the north of territory of modern northern Thailand) became the most important in region. On Thon (Na Thon)
It is a city-port known for the wonderful declines (in a photo just one of them). Official bodies, immigration department, glavpochtamt, the main police administration and offices of the basic banks - all it is here. Zdest also there is a landing stage for express ferries and passenger ferries which vessels from Surat Thani (Surat Thani) come. Here not so it is a lot of sights, except for, perhaps, old tikovyh at home in the Chinese style, and musical representations which pass every evening.

Hua Thanon (Hua Thanon)
The biggest mooring for the fishing ships on island is in area of a Muslim community (Moslems who migrated here from Pattani, the province adjoining on Malaysia) here live. Here you can see their special, brightly painted, boats.

Falls To us Muang (Nam Muanc Waterfall)
The falls are in 10 kilometres from On Thona, in area Ban Thurian (Ban Thurian). In this place there are two falls - falls To us Muang the First (Nam Muang One) - 18 metres in height, on top it is possible to call in on the car, and falls To us Muang the Second (Nam Muang Two), height about 80 metres, and on top it is possible to reach on foot, approximately for half an hour. The island Samuj (Koh Samui) is the third on size island of Thailand, it is located at east coast, in the middle of a gulf, and is an archipelago part, where islands Tao (Koh Tao) and Phangan (Koh Pha-Ngan) also enter.

Inhabitants Hajnana, island which now belongs to China were the first poselentsami on island. poselentsy began to grow up cocoes on the coconut farms, and till now on Samue collect the big crops of cocoes. However now the basic source of incomes for inhabitants of island is a tourism where they earn much more, than sale of cocoes. Inhabitants of island name themselves chao Samui, instead of tajtsami, at them the culture and the kitchen which is distinct from other islands.

The island Samuj became popular among tourists from the West in the beginning of 80 years, and now during the high season here it is a lot of to people (a tourist season on Samue - from December till February, and also July and August). To read completely »
